Industry survey paints bleak picture for Wisconsin hotels and lodges

MADISON, Wis. (WMTV) – A new internal survey finds nearly half of the state’s hotels and lodges may not make it another year without some financial assistance.

The numbers released by the Wisconsin Hotel & Lodging Association showed 47 percent of lodging facilities face closing within 12 months unless they receive a loan or grant assistance.

The travel order is voluntary and directs travelers entering or returning to Chicago from states with a surge in new COVID cases to quarantine for 14 days. 

The order applies to individuals coming from Wisconsin to Chicago for non-work purposes and Chicago residents returning from Wisconsin, unless they are an essential worker. Exceptions include travel for medical care and parental shared custody, and for travelers passing through Wisconsin from non-quarantine

Chicago quarantine COVID-19 travel order: Wisconsin, 3 other states, Puerto Rico added back on list

CHICAGO (WLS) — Wisconsin and other states were added to Chicago’s COVID-19 emergency travel order Tuesday.

Montana, Idaho, Minnesota, and Puerto Rico were also added back on the list after seeing a rise in cases.

CHICAGO — Starting Friday, Wisconsin makes a return trip to the city’s coronavirus travel quarantine list, public health officials said.
