The actor who became famous with his exploits in Seaside Heights on the MTV show Jersey Shore shares his story of recovery during a Hope Sheds Light meeting in Toms River
The world needs “Jersey Shore Family Vacation” right about now.
Mike “The Situation” Sorrentino and wife Lauren Sorrentino spoke about challenges filming Season 4 of “Jersey Shore Family Vacation” during the pandemic, and why the time is right for the reality show to return on their Wednesday, Sept. 29, “Here’s the Sitch” podcast.
“We have been filming ‘Jersey Shore Family Vacation’ Season 4,” said Mike on the podcast, taped at his Holmdel home. “I’ll be honest, I’m kind of excited to make some good TV, get back to work despite some of the challenges in 2020.”
“I feel like the world needs the show back,” Lauren said.
“An escape,” Mike said.
“‘Jersey Shore Family Vacation’ has always had so much joy and laughter in it,” Lauren said. “I feel like a lot of reality shows, because it’s in their nature, they have to have drama, have also have some sort of intrigue.”

“Also known as Angeliners,” quipped Mike, referring to “JSFV” cast member Angelina Pivarnick.
“Basically every show has their own Angeliners, but what I think ‘Jersey Shore’ has that so many other shows lack is the comedy, and it’s natural,” Lauren said. “It’s just because when you put all of you guys together it’s like lightning in a bottle and you guys were literally made to be doing this together.”
“Usually when the fellas and everyone is together, it’s hilarious,” Mike said. “You guys should picture behind the scenes that don’t even make it (to the broadcast).”
“I’m crying laughing most of the time, it’s always such a fun time and the world really needs that,” Lauren said. “The world needs to laugh and have an escape.”

The cast is observing safety protocols while filming. Up next is a trip to an undisclosed location, Mike said.
“Myself and my husband get tested very regularly just because we have to be tested for our work,” Lauren said.
“We’ve gotten tested about four times in the past two weeks,” Mike said.
“Eight,” Lauren corrected him.
“Eight, really, my goodness,” Mike said. “Well, that just shows you guys I’m not a numbers guy. I just got out of prison for that.”
